The N-1 jacket was released in the mid-1940s and includes a three-piece set of jacket, pants, and hat, all made from the same fabric. It was specifically designed for sailors to use on ships, commonly known as the DECK JACKET. The surface is made of a durable cotton satin material, while the interior is lined with woven alpaca or wool.The first generation N-1 was a blue version with no words on the front and printed US.NAVY on the back, quickly replaced by khaki green in early 1944. Following the second generation N-1, the cuffs were removed and the US.NAVY letters on the back were changed to USN printed on the front chest. The final version was the third generation, which also removed the underarm gun strap, ending distribution in the early 1960s.
