Longquan celadon originated in the Southern Dynasties, flourished under the Northern Song, and prospered under the Southern Song. The ancient Longquan kilns were one of the five famous kilns of the Song Dynasty, including the Guan, Ge, Ru, Ding, and Jun kilns. They have a long history and are renowned both at home and abroad.Celadon is renowned for its fine porcelain texture, clear and smooth lines, dignified and simple design, and pure and vibrant colors.
There are two types of Longquan celadon products: one is celadon with a white or cinnabar base, known as "Di Kiln" or "Longquan Kiln," and the other is celadon with a black base and crackle glaze, known as "Ge Kiln."The "Di Yao" celadon glaze is rich and lustrous, with a greenish-blue color, a soft sheen, and a crystal-clear, moist appearance, surpassing even that of jadeite."Ge Kiln" celadon uses magnificent, rustic patterns as a decorative element, and is commonly known as "purple rim with iron base." These patterns, when paired with the glaze patterns, enhance its rustic and elegant character, making it a true treasure among ceramics.
